‘Son-Mother’ to attend Toronto film festival

Iranian-Czech movie ‘Son-Mother’ has been set to participate at the upcoming edition of the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada.

‘Son-Mother’ directed by Mahnaz Mohammadi is among Toronto’s Discovery selection.

The program is comprised of 37 films from emerging filmmakers.

‘Son-Mother’ is about a widow who works tirelessly at a failing factory in Iran. She receives a marriage proposal that could mean financial security — but could also tear her family apart.

According to the event’s website, the Toronto International Film Festival is one of the most beloved cinematic events in the world, universally regarded as an ideal platform for filmmakers to launch their careers and to premiere their new works.

The 44th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival will take place on September 5-15, 2019.
